A New Necklace From Bits and Bobs

I was looking through my jewellery box that my gorgeous little sister Emily sent me the other day seeing what was in there and I came across a few "broken" bits. I found a butterfly charm missing its jewell, a love heart charm that carly gave to me, a plain silver chain and the matching sleeper to the one I broke a couple of weeks ago. Oh what to do what to do. I put it all together with a purple pearl bead and here is the result.

I like the way it turned out but I am not sure wether I should add anything or not... We'll have to see.

New Painting

I brought a few canvases last week from Go-Lo and I was bored the other day so I painted what was meant to be a self portrait but it didn't really end up looking like me at all. If you think it looks a bit like it should be in a children's book there is a reason for that, in Children's Texts at uni our last assignment is a picture book and I have been really stuck on that lately. Anyway here it is (sorry about the photo quality I am still using my phone.):

Apologies

I have been so busy lately what with going back to uni this week, an incident with a desk, cleaning my room, trying to be a better friend and being just plain lazy that I have neglected little boy bloggy here (all of mine I should say.) but I will be doing major updatage in the coming days for all of my blogs, I have a massive amount of photos to share and stories to tell ('open wide come inside, it's play school' probably won't get the reference if you aren't Australian. Hopefully I will get at least one post on each blog a week.

Quick Lil' Update

So well my little outer space buddy is giving me a pain in the neck (not litterally but yeah) so I am taking a break from him at the moment to concentrate on other things. I'm almost finished a bag made out an old pair of cargo pants that i started in about 2005, sewed that up just have to decorate it (how I don't know...), I'm also making hair accessories/jewellery, found a use for the three blank canvas' I had, creating stacks of stencils and also re-vamping a pair of sand shoes and a pair of Jiffy ballet/dance shoes. Will be updating as soon as they are done.

Project 1 - Stuffed Toy Alien

I was looking around the dump I call my room the other day when I noticed a pile of costumes that I got from my old high school, most of the stuff in it I use occasionaly (costume parties are big at the moment) but one of the pieces I don't use is a gold scarf/shawl with black fringe trimming. I'm not sure exactly what the material is but it is really crinkly and rough, so I couldn't make clothes or the like out of it.

Usually I don't like aliens but I just thought this would be the perfect material to make a little alien out of. Here's a sketch of what I am hoping it will look like:

I think he looks kinda cute his body will be made out of the gold material, his eyes and nose will be blac material and his mouth and the little planet (or it could end up being a star) will be hand stitched with black thread. I am not yet sure wether I will give him antennas or not, or if I do how they will be.

These are the templates I have cut out so far (only half of them though, minus ears, eyes, nose and possible antennas) they are on note paper at the moment will be transferring them to something else. Hopefully he won't take that long to do. I will post more pictures as he progresses/when finished.

And So The Title Comes True...

As the title of my blog says I have found my Creativity... Eureka... Not much at the moment though just photoshopping it at the moment 100x100 icons, quote graphics, banners and the like. will post once I get them off of my computer (I currently don't have the internet on it which is partly the reason for not updating this blog more.) also i will post photos of my older pieces such as high school assignments for both Vis Comm and Studio Arts as well as Textiles, which is not my best work. Expect at least one more post this week.

A List Of Things.... (edited 28 Feb 2007)

Well I thought with new years only a few weeks away I would get in early with my "resolutions"... which aren't so much the normal resoultions of lose weight, stop a bad habit etc. but more or less a list of to do' by this time next year (so in other words resoultions...)

*start on pyjama quilt
*redecorate my room (room has been clean and rearranged decorating starts soon... room is once again a mess)
*make Emily's graduation presant (which will be about a year late but hey so is mine from hers)
*at least 3 paintings (1 down, 2 to go)
*Audrey Hepburn singlet top
*new book bag for Uni (one bag made need to make a bigger one though)
*more sketches/drawings (have done quite a few will post soon)
*make jewellry (started on a beaded bracelet just need clasps and wire to finish)
*go thrifting at least twice down at old Broady op shop
*create memory frames for my room (L'n'L 06, High School, 18th, Social, Graduation etc...)
*make some stuffed toys
*make a new body suit for Nicholas
*video message for Emily's birthday (now for christmas... started)
*new cushions
*decoupage jewellry boxes (images ready to be 'aged')
*decorate "The Box"
*stencil at least 5 singlet tops

well that is all I can think of for now I mught add some things later.
